Solent University Renew Their Partnership with Hampshire FA
Hampshire FA will continue to collaborate with Solent University to provide Student Leadership Projects.
The Football Leadership Project has been run, in coordination with Solent University, since 2014, offering students a number of football leadership initiatives and projects. These initiatives ultimately enhance the quality of experiences and ensure pathways are in place to maximise each participants' potential to contribute to, and develop, grassroots football.
Projects focus on a variety of areas, offering students of all ages different experiences and learning opportunities. The new programme is set to launch this month with initiatives related to any of the following pillars of The National Game:
- Sustain and Increase Participation
- Player Development
- Training and Playing Facilities
- Workforce
- Running the Game
- Marketing and Communications
"The Football Leadership Programme allows us to develop and utilise a workforce of future industry professionals and greatly increases our capacity to impact the Southampton area and beyond. At the centre of the programme is the annual deployment of 200 students to deliver 40 projects that support football development across the National Game Strategy. Alongside this, we also work closely with foundation degree students, third year students and other sections of the University as we continually look for ways to enhance the partnership" - Chris Smith, Football Development Manager - Hampshire FA
Specific projects planned for the new programme include Charter Standard Club Development, Mental Health Provision, Community Inclusion, Youth Futsal Festival and many more.
